2024 In Review: A Year of Growth and Expansion

2024 was a transformational year for our company. We increased the size and scale of our portfolio—growing from 500MW to 1.6GW under management and more than doubling the number of sites.

All of this growth came from third-party commercial contracts. These helped establish our independence from our parent company and marked a significant change in our go-to-market strategy. They also allowed us to demonstrate proven commercial offerings and showcase our expanded capabilities. Indeed, today, we have more MW under management on third-party sites than parent company ones.

In February, we onboarded a 10-site, 250MW portfolio of operational BESS sites from a single customer with multiple technologies and designs. As part of this contract, four employees transferred to us under the TUPE regulations. It’s been amazing to watch them become fully-fledged team members, creating the opportunity for two-way training and genuine knowledge flow around the company.

We recently established an in-house 24/7 staffed control room, which serves as the centrepiece of our new remote monitoring capabilities. This significant investment allows us to oversee site performance and security in real-time, ensuring swift response times. The control room’s advanced systems enable us to conduct remote diagnostics and repairs efficiently or, when necessary, dispatch field service engineers for on-site fixes. This approach has become a key differentiator, enhancing both reliability and accountability in our operations.

We’re excited that we can now offer full lifecycle support that goes beyond O&M to include concept engineering, augmentation, EPCM services, and commissioning expertise for new or existing battery sites. I look forward to sharing more details about these services as the year unfolds.

Looking longer term, we’re committed to developing the skilled workforce and technology needed to support the UK’s projected BESS growth targets—investing in talent and innovation to deliver long-term, sustainable growth.

This year’s Energy Storage Summit is just a few weeks away, and we’ll be there on Stand 8. Do stop by to learn more about these and other updates. If you haven’t registered yet, you can do so via this link.
